Shannon Stern, LPC-S, LMHC

I am a licensed therapist and supervisor in the states of Texas and Massachusetts. I grew up in the Greater Boston area and currently live in Austin, TX, but both areas have my heart.

I offer clients what I would want in therapy: somewhere where it's comfortable to laugh, cry, and reflect. I'd want to feel supported and understood, while also noticing real relief and change.

In my practice, I primarily use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy as modalities, while focusing on providing an accepting and nonjudgmental space for you to feel and understand your emotional experiences.

The EMDR or IFS therapy experience can be a wild ride; these modalities involve noticing somatic sensations to connect the body and mind. You will find I use warmth, humor, directness, and "realness" to make therapy genuine and less intimidating.

Outside of the therapy space, you can find me enjoying the typical millennial activities: spending time with my dog Charlie, attempting to keep my plants alive, water coloring, traveling and visiting family/friends whenever I can, and getting overly excited about anything Harry Potter related.
