My Philosophy of Supervision
Good supervision isn’t about authority, it’s about helping you grow into a therapist who feels grounded, ethical, confident, and yourself in the therapy room. You don’t need to become perfect, nor have all the answers. I want to help you develop your therapeutic style, understand the clients you work well with, and feel authentic in your work. You'll find I act more like a collaborative consultant, cheer leader, and mentor; I'll help you notice how different parts of you arise during your work and encourage you to try different approaches. I bring an IFS lens to therapy, and while I won't be your IFS therapist, you'll notice how parts language can help you strengthen your clinical abilities and awareness.
What you can expect from supervision
A Safe, Non-Judgmental Space
You don’t have to perform or pretend you know everything. Mistakes, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome are welcome here. It's all part of the process! It doesn't make you a bad therapist.
Clear, Consistent, & Collaborative
You’ll always know what to expect. Supervision is predictable, organized, and aligned with licensure requirements so you can focus on learning, not guessing. While I may have some pre-determined topics to teach you, I mainly encourage my associates to come prepared with clinical questions and cases to review each week.
Practical Support
We’ll focus on what actually happens in the therapy room:
-
Case conceptualization that makes sense
-
Interventions you can use immediately
-
What to say when sessions feel stuck, intense, or quiet
-
Navigating boundaries, ruptures, and ethical gray areas
Confidence-Building Feedback
You’ll receive specific, thoughtful feedback; not just on what needs growth, but on what you’re already doing well. My goal is to help you trust your clinical instincts, not second-guess yourself after every session.
Affirming, Values-Aligned Mentorship
Your identity, lived experience, and values matter. I support associates who want to practice in ways that are trauma-informed, affirming, and aligned with who they are and the clients they support.
My Clinical & Supervisory Experience
I have been an approved LPC supervisor in Texas since 2024 and an approved LMHC supervisor in Massachusetts since 2021.
Clinical Experience: I have worked with a variety of diagnoses including eating disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex trauma, personality disorders, mood disorders, and adjustment disorders. I currently specialize in anxiety, relationship attachment issues, and trauma symptoms.
Work Experience: I have worked in outpatient, residential, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of care. I've conducted individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy. I have experience working in a group practice as well as private practice.
Modalities trained in: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Based Therapy/Maudsley Method (FBT), Mindfulness, Relational and Person-Centered.
What I look for in Supervisees
I work well with those who are motivated to learn and grow, and understand the value of supervision and feedback. I may be a good fit for you if you are planning on working in outpatient group practice, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, or residential levels of care. If you plan on building a private practice, I expect a high level of confidence in independent work, ability to ethically market yourself to build a caseload, and a demonstrated understanding of professionalism and boundaries.
