If any of this sounds familiar, you've probably thought about it from every angle already.
You can explain exactly why you feel this way — and knowing hasn't made it go away.
Your body reacts before your brain catches up: racing heart, tight chest, a flood of shame or panic that feels bigger than the moment.
Rejection, criticism, or being misunderstood doesn't just sting — it can take over your whole afternoon.
The feelings don't come in small doses. Anxiety and emotional intensity tend to travel together.
Somewhere back there is a memory, or a handful of them, that still has a charge — even though you know, logically, it's in the past.
Not hypnosis, not talking about it to death. A different way in.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR therapy is a structured and innovative approach for addressing trauma and emotional distress. It involves 8 phases including: history taking, grounding, identifying, desensitizing, reprocessing, and reflecting.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (BLS) to support both hemispheres of the brain process. BLS can involve eye movements, listening to bilateral sounds, or holding bilateral devices. BLS is NOT physically painful. In fact, BLS helps your body stay grounded and present while remembering distressing events.
Sessions are tailored to individual needs, enabling participants to uncover and process past experiences in a safe and guided setting. This therapy is ideal for those seeking a focused and effective alternative to traditional talk therapy. If you're looking for a specific type of healing, and ready to do the work, it's a quiet transformation.
What are the benefits?
TIME: EMDR helps you to foster change quickly, in as little as a handful of sessions depending on how many distressing events you want to address.
CHANGE: People report feeling relief after EMDR that they could not feel after years of traditional talk therapy.
GUIDED: Ever feel like you don't know what to talk about in therapy? I got you. EMDR allows for collaborative and focused treatment goals.
CALM: This has a very different feel to it than regular therapy. Some clients report feeling lighter, calmer, as if the distressing memory is "distant" following EMDR sessions.
COMPASSION: The goal of EMDR is to help your brain and body be regulated and feel safe, despite having gone through something distressing. EMDR helps your brain process the memory and instill positive beliefs about yourself that trauma may have prevented you from believing.
A flowing sequence, not a one-off session.
What is the process?
Free consult call
20 minutes, no pressure. We talk about what's bringing you in and whether EMDR — and working with me — makes sense. There are options for traditional 50 minute sessions, and extended 90 minute sessions.
History & groundwork
A couple of sessions to understand your history and what we're aiming EMDR at. We don't rush into reprocessing before we're ready.
Building your resources
We put grounding and stabilization tools in place first, so you have something steady to return to during and between sessions.
Reprocessing
The core EMDR work: targeted, paced to what you can handle in a given session, never forced. We go as fast as we can, but as slow as we need to.
Integration
We check what's shifted, reinforce it, and decide together what still needs attention or where we can close out.
